Apple Bircher is filled with wholesome ingredients like oats, fresh apples, yogurt, and seeds. Made overnight, this healthy recipe is great for a quick breakfast for the busiest morning!
1 grated red apple (peeled)
50g porridge oats
100ml milk of choice
100g Greek yogurt (or dairy free Greek yogurt)
1 tsp chia seeds/ flax seeds
OPTIONAL 1/2 - 1 tbsp agave/ maple syrup/ honey*
OPTIONAL 1 tsp vanilla extract
*NOTE: avoid honey for babies under 1 year old
IDEAS FOR WHAT YOU CAN ADD:
1 tsp peanut butter, or any nut butter
Handful of raisins (chopped for baby under 8 months)
1 or 1/2 ripe mashed banana
Pinch of cinnamon
Place the grated apple in a bowl and add the oats, milk, Greek yogurt and the chia seeds.
Stir together well.
Cover and place the bowl in a the fridge overnight.
-in the morning- Top with your favourite fruits and toppings.
